Welcome to Mahana Dive Center Online!

Our scuba diving center is located at the Relais Mahana Resort on French Polynesia's Society Island of Huahine, just a few feet from the clear blue waters of the magical lagoon.

The Mahana Dive Center loves scuba diving in the waters of Huahine and we make it our passion to show you the best of the diving possibilities here.

Annie, the chief divemaster and scuba instructor, has been diving in the polynesian waters for over 10 years and is very experienced with the Huahine lagoon and outer reef system. (Read more about Annie below)

If you are already certified, the MAHANA DIVE CENTER offers 2 different daily dive options:
1) * Morning dive (departure 9.00 a.m.) and afternoon dive (1.30 p.m.)
2) * 2 Tank dive- with a stop for one hour to eat in Fare village between the 2 dives (Time: 5 hours total)

If you are new to diving, we have great starter courses for you to become certified. (Read below)

Exploring the Lagoon and Passes:
Huahine has many excellent places to dive both in and outside of the lagoon. Similiar to other Society Islands, some of the best diving is at the various passes between the outer ocean and the lagoon. The MAHANA DIVE CENTER is here to show you their many secrets...

On Huahine, the best diving is in the Passes... Depending on the conditions, some passes we might visit on your dives include: Avapeihi pass, Fa'a Miti, Parea pass, Parea Dropoff, Coral City, Roses, and Fare pass.

See details on the different passes here.

We may also decide to dive along the reef and NOT in a pass... it all depends on the many conditions of the day.

Knowing EXACTLY where to go for the optimum diving conditions takes many years of experience. That's our specialty! Annie will take you to the best spots in style and with speed in our 6 meter, semi-stiff, ZODIAC boat.

Ultimately, our goal on every dive is always the same: to give you the best chances to see the most marine life on any given day.

The Wonderful Marine Life:
The marine life of Huahine is simply amazing. We are always seeing new creatures on our dives and have never tired of the fascinating species we dive with every day. Because of its lack of scuba tourism, Huahine gets dove less than the other Society Islands and so has healthy populations of all the regular creatures in the French Polynesian waters.

There are grey, white, and black tipped sharks... There are eagle rays, tuna, barracuda, napoleon fish, and hundreds of other species of fabulous multi-colored fish... There are also turtles, corals, clams and crustaceans of a thousand colors.

And, because everyone is interested in the largest creatures, the waters of Huahine also support populations of manta rays, dolphins, and Humpback whales, depending on the season!

Your Instructors:
The main dive instructer for Mahana Dive Center is Annie, and she is here to introduce and train you in the art and sport of scuba diving... and Huahine is a perfect place to learn!

Annie, (BEES 1, PADI) has made scuba diving her passion for 18 years. She has been state qualified for 10 years and an instructress in Huahine for 7 years. Annie's style is relaxed yet professional, always stressing safety along with technical knowledge...

As it turns out, she also has a good sense of humour, speaks english, (as well as perfect french of course), and truly enjoys showing newcomers to scuba her passion.

In addition to Annie, we are proud to introduce to you the newest member of our team: Longtime Dive master and Instructor, Philippe Merle. (PADI and CMAS)

First Dives & Training:
For those who do not know diving, who are afraid of depths and unknown species, but interested in discovering how to explore the underwater life of Polynesia, do not hesitate: the MAHANA DIVE Center training course starts out with an easy beach in order to gain your confidence in the water.

From there, Annie will be with you among the coral and the fishes in security. You are learning to dive, and you want to improve and feel at ease to go deeper! MAHANA DIVE Center will allow you to progress while learning and enjoying.

After a short time, you will be able to reach a certified level 1 easily and then be ready to start exploring the Huahine waters and other islands.

Rates & Equipment
All Mahana dive center equipment is top quality and brand new and constantly maintained for safety. (Safety is one of our trademarks and something all our dives and classes always stress.)

When you dive with us, we supply all your gear. There is NO need to bring any of YOUR own gear, but some people feel more comfortable with their own masks, regulators, or wetsuits... this is never a problem, but simply not recommended because of the weight of carrying around your own scuba gear.
